Mansa Musa was the ninth emperor of the Mali Empire in West Africa. Under his leadership, Mali became one of the largest and wealthiest empires in the world at the time, stretching across modern-day Mali, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Niger, Nigeria, and Chad.
